SISTERS AFFIRMING SISTERHOOD

empowernment through fASHION

We Need Your Help.

S.A.S. Project operates solely on donations and we need your support more now than ever. OUr project is growing and its time for us to expand in order to meet the needs of the community we serve. Acquiring a mobile boutique would give us the ability to store and transport more inventory to distribute to those in need.

SOLIDARITY ANNuls THE SYSTEM

The 5 ‘R’s of S.A.S. Project

  • Reduce

Reducing the amount of clothing we have, the frequency of our shopping trips, even switching to a laundry brand that doesn’t use plastic packaging all have a positive impact on the planet. We reject the exploitative fast-fashion industry that is detrimental to the planet.

  • Recirculate

Gender-affirming packages for transgender women are at the center of S.A.S. Project’s mission. Rather than contribute to landfills, we encourage people to donate those items to transgender women in need.

  • Restore

We encourage people to take proper care of their clothing in order to guarantee long-term wear. Repairing, reinforcing, and restoring your clothing and accessories keeps them out of landfills.

  • Research

Making informed decisions can compel the fashion industry to alter their practices. Buying clothing free of synthetic materials, choosing brands that properly pay their workers, and verifying a company’s carbon footprint are a few ways we can use our buying power to effect change.

  • Repurpose

There are many innovative ways to prolong the life of clothing and keep it out of a trash heap. Fabric can be reworked into new clothing or something else entirely. Bags, athletic fields, pillows, rugs, and toys are just a few examples of what unwanted shoes and clothes can become.
